Math 80: Fundamentals of Algebra

Course Description
Math 80 extends the material of Math 60 and is intended to prepare students who have some background in algebra for Math 90. Math 80 introduces rational expressions, radicals and systems of equations.
Who should take this course?
Generally, students who have satisfactorily completed Math 60, or students who place into Math 80 via the Accuplacer placement test.
Who is eligible to take this course?
The prerequisite for this course is Math 60 with a grade of 2.0 or higher. Students new to EdCC with an appropriately high Accuplacer score may also consider taking Math 80.
Is this course transferable?
This course does not transfer to a four-year university such as the University of Washington.
What textbook is used for this course?
The eighth edition of Elementary Algebra by Charles P. McKeague (ISBN: 0495108391).
When is this course offered?
Math 80 is offered each quarter, including Summer Quarter. It is also offered online each quarter, and in the Math Center.
